Maritime Vineyard
Farmed by the Bredell family
Planted in 1980 and situated less than 4km's from the shores of False Bay. It's a ragged and windswept site which takes the full brunt of the south-easter in the summer months. The granite derived soils here are shallow and sandy which invariably leads to a very early pick. The resulting wine is akin to a sea-breeze in a glass; ripe tropical fruits, lip-smacking acidity and a salty oystershell salinity.

Montane Vineyard
Farmed by the McNaught-Davis family
Planted in 1964 and situated on the lower foothills of the Helderberg West Peak.
These duplex soils are layered and textured, just like the resulting wine. The vineyard also features a healthy sprinkling of Muscat and Semillon which adds to its mystique. The wine is all about tension and texture, a dynamic push and pull between acidity, tannin and minerality. A cerebral wine which will reward several years of cellaring.

Cinsault Block "J"
Farmed by the McNaught-Davis family
Planted in 1957 in the shadow of the Helderberg West Peak. There is an old adage in farming which says we never actually own the land, we merely take care of it for the next generation. Old, gnarly vineyards such as this reinforce that notion in a big way. The wine speaks softly but lingers long and offers a remarkable insight into Cape viticultural heritage. A rustic, soulful and contemplative wine.

Shiraz Villa Cordoba
Farmed by Francois Hanekom
Planted in 2000 and rooted in pure weathered granite. Its a cool, south facing slope with the highest point of the vineyard up at 300 metres above sea level.
The resulting wine is an aromatic experience that stops you in your tracks, a lifted floral perfume of violets, lavender and potpourri. A wine with altitude and attitude.

Eendrag Cab Sauv
Farmed by the Steyn Family
A cool, south-facing site planted in 2002 and situated less than 4km's from the shores of False Bay. If picturesque views were a pre-requisite to making great wines, this block would win hands down. The site yields an expression of Cabernet Sauvignon which is perfumed and light on its feet. Great complexity and depth of flavour, without excessive power. The vineyard is trained as a bush vine, perhaps an oddity as not so much a rarity in the Cape winelands nowadays.
